Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said Monday that he is the “better candidate” for the White House, saying he was the first Republican candidate to win a majority of delegates in two consecutive primaries.
“He’s the better candidate.
I don’t think it’s even close,” Trump said of the GOP front-runner in a news conference on the first day of a three-day campaign swing through swing states.
“But he’s the one that’s going to win in November.”
Trump is in the early stages of his bid for the presidency, but has been widely criticized for his handling of his campaign and his remarks on race relations.
The New York billionaire has also drawn criticism for his remarks about Mexican immigrants and Muslims.
