In a world of orthopedic surgery, we tend to focus on how you’ll feel when you get back on your feet, but what if you can’t do that?
And if you want to stay healthy for longer, what if the surgery won’t work?
In this case, it’s a situation that’s called arthroscopic knee replacement.
There are a lot of options out there, including knee replacements in the back or knee replacements on the sides of the knee, and arthrosthetics are the first choice.
But they’re not without their risks.
You may feel more pain on the left side, but the procedure also risks causing some permanent damage to your bones, said Dr. Daniel A. Zirak, a board-certified orthopedist in Denver.
Arthroscopy can also have complications.
For instance, when you go under the surgeon’s chair, the surgeon has to use an instrument called a screwdriver to remove the implant, which can lead to infections and potentially even damage to the surrounding bone.
And if it doesn’t work, you can end up with a bigger scar that’s more difficult to treat.
The other downside is that the surgeon can’t insert a needle into your knee, which could lead to an infection, said Jennifer Gaudet, a podiatrist and an orthopedologist in San Francisco.
And because the surgeon needs to use the instrument to perform the surgery, she recommends it only be done if the risk of infection is very low.
When you go to the emergency room, you might have pain on your left knee, but not a severe infection.
And that’s because you’re in an emergency, not because you were injured, said Gaudette.
The surgeon might be able to help, but he’s not likely to know what he or she’s doing.
But if you’re at risk, the first thing you need to do is get tested.
So if you have the right type of arthrostemic implant, your doctor can tell you the exact type of treatment you need.
If you’re not in that group, you’ll have to go to a specialist who can tell him or her what type of surgery to do.
If there’s no risk of complications, the doctor can recommend arthrocuties, too.
