Hillary Clinton is “getting worse” as she ages, and her health is worsening in recent months, her running mate, Tim Kaine, said Wednesday.
The Democratic vice presidential nominee’s campaign said the former secretary of state is in “great physical shape” and has undergone two surgeries since the end of March, adding that she “has been receiving a steady stream of physical exams.”
“She has not shown any symptoms that she’s ever experienced before or since,” Kaine said in a statement.
He said Clinton was “in good spirits” and that the campaign is “working hard to keep her healthy and to make sure she is the president for all Americans.”
The Clintons have been under heavy scrutiny for the years since their 2016 presidential run and the 2016 election in which they lost to President Donald Trump.
They are currently fighting for re-election in 2020.
On Thursday, the Clinton campaign posted a message to their Twitter account urging people to contact their local police department and the FBI.
Kaine’s campaign also posted a statement to Twitter asking for people to report any suspicious activity they may see.
Clinton, 69, is suffering from pneumonia.
